Marie Maccioli - 8th Grade Counselor
I am originally from North Carolina and still enjoy going back to the beaches and to visit family! I have lived in Aurora for over 20 years and have worked in the Counseling capacity in APS for 17 years.
I earned my Master’s degree in School Counseling from Azusa Pacific University. I enjoy renewing my professional knowledge with current research in the field through the American School Counselor Association membership.
Currently I am the assigned Counselor for all 8th grade students.
My passion is to help students become active self-motivated learners and to assist them in discovering their strengths, interests, and goals for their future. As a School Counselor I build relationships and trust with students and families while offering individual and group counseling services. I am honored to be a part of students’ lives at such a critical developmental stage.
My job is to accelerate learning for every APS student, every day. I do my job by carefully attending to the academic, personal, social and emotional needs of students while promoting a positive learning environment and facilitating meaningful partnerships with students’ families and community agencies. My community needs me to do my job.
