Continuation Guidlines
8TH GRADERS: 2ND SEMESTER STARTS JANUARY 5REMEMBER THE APS CONTINUATION GUIDELINESEight Grade Parents:
As we begin second quarter I wanted to take a moment to remind students and parents of the APS Continuation Guidelines:
TARDIES
Students may not attend continuation or related activities if he/she has
more than 10 tardies the 2nd semester of school.
ABSENCES
Students may not attend continuation or related activities if he/she has
more than 5 unexcused absences the 2nd semester of school.
TRUANCIES
It will be left to the administration’s discretion to determine if a student’s involvement in the CARB process, or involvement in court, may attend continuation or related activities.
BEHAVIOR
Students may not attend continuation or related activities if he/she has
more than 2 incidents that resulted in suspension the 2nd semester of school.
IN HOUSE SUSPENSION
Students may not attend continuation or related activities if he/she was assigned
“In-House” (PASS room detention) more that 3 times with a written referral for behavior the 2nd semester of school.
ACADEMICS
Students may not attend continuation or related activities if he/she has
more than 1 F the 2nd semester of school.
We will begin monitoring this information at the beginning of second semester, Monday January 5, 2009. It is our goal that every eighth grade student is eligible for continuation. Please go over these requirements with your students now so we can get students to practice good habits prior to second semester.
